[modifier] Livre:Harbottle - Dictionary of quotations French and Italian, 1904.djvu. Will this book do?
Here is a book of French and Italian quotations by Thomas Benfield Harbottle et Philip Hugh Dalbiac, edition 1904. Will this one be useful? Regards, --Zyephyrus (d) 3 octobre 2011 à 08:20 (UTC)
- That is very good and I will be pleased to work on it. Ultimately, of course, I would like to incorporate all such books into as many projects as they can be used for! Cheers, BD2412 (d) 3 octobre 2011 à 16:13 (UTC)
[modifier] Harbottle & Bot
Ok, I didn’t know but indeed it’s a good idea. What bot or script will you use ?

- I plan to go through them with AWB. I've used it fairly routinely on English Wiki projects for such things. BD2412 (d) 2 novembre 2011 à 18:20 (UTC)
- Ok, I’ve tried AWB years ago but I never figured how to use it efficiently.
- Do you think there something possible to automatized in Nobiliaire et armorial de Bretagne ? Cdlt, VIGNERON * discut. 3 novembre 2011 à 14:59 (UTC)
- I do not see any page scans there. In theory, any task requiring a large number of repetitive fixes can be sped up with AWB or a bot. BD2412 (d) 3 novembre 2011 à 16:36 (UTC)
- Indexes are here. It’s pretty repetitive but I don’t see the “pattern”, eg. how add
{{sc}}to the familly names and italic to first name ? how do AWB know this is (first) name ? Familly name is always located at the same place : at the beggining of his section. But how do AWB where the section begins ? - As you can see, it don’t seems crystal clear for me :S Cdlt, VIGNERON * discut. 4 novembre 2011 à 09:10 (UTC)
- Ah, that is a different kind of task altogether. For the book of quotations, there are many qoutes by Voltaire, for example, so I can use AWB to quickly find every instance of "Voltaire" and replace it with "{{d|{{sc|[[Auteur:Voltaire|Voltaire]]}}". BD2412 (d) 4 novembre 2011 à 15:04 (UTC)

[modifier] apostrophes
- It seems you're an English speakers… :) so I'll translate
- why do you replace typographic apostrophes (’) with dactylographic (') ones - it's contrary to WS typographic conventions… or is it an error ?
- without explanation, I should cancel your modifications… so I'd prefer to know the reason :) --Hélène (d) 25 mai 2012 à 22:35 (UTC)
- I was not aware of this convention - dactylographic apostrophes are just easier for me to work with since they are on the keyboard, but I'll reverse course. Cheers! BD2412 (d)
- OK, you can activate the "Typo" gadget in your preferences, so that you "type" the dactylographic apostroph, and after that, you transform it in typographic ones… :) (button "T" in the Toolbar after activation…) before "publishing" - it's much easier, and for punctuation too :) - cheers --Hélène (d) 25 mai 2012 à 22:45 (UTC)
