In the Dublin Court, on Friday last, Mr. Ball, Q.O., M.P., on the part of Sir H. Seymour, opened the case of “Wallace against Seymour,” affecting the Hertford estates. The Irish Court of Common Pleas found that the will was made in 1838, and devised the castles, honors, and manors to Lord Henry Seymour, and in default of issue to Sir George Hamilton Seymour. At the time he made that will he was Lord Yarmouth, and had only a reversionary interest. His father died in 1842, and four years afterwards he became Marquis of Hertford. In 1850 he made a set of codicils ; the first bequeathing to Mlle. Louisa Suzanne Heart, going by the name of Mme. Odger, and living at No. 46, Half-Moon-street, Piccadilly, and having her domicile in Paris, at No. 6, Rue Laffitte, the legacy of 425,000 sterling, independently of the control of any person or future husband ; the second to the same person, and giving her the house in Paris ; the third to the same, and an annuity of £2,000 during her life ; and the fourth to the son, Frederick K. Dudley Rider, and Captain William Lyon, of 22, Park-lane, London ; £10,000 in trust to be invested in Three per Cent. Consols, for the benefit of Seymourina Suzanne Vincent. On the 7th June he made two addi tional codicils, and on one of these the whole question arose, viz., ” This is a further codicil to the last will of me, Richard Seymour Con- wav, Marquis of Hertford, K.G., which bears date on or about the 21st of June, 1838. I hereby revoke the bequest contained in my will of the residue of all my real and personal estates to my brother Lord Henry Seymour, and to reward as much as I can Richard Wal lace for all his care and attention to my dear mother, and likewise for his devotedness to me during a long and painful illness I had in Paris, in 1840, and on all other occasions, I give such residue to the said Richard Wallace, now living at the said Hotel Despains, Bou logne-sur-Mer, in France, and whose domicile, previous to the Revolution of February, 1845, was in my mother’s house, Rue Tote de Pont No. 3, Paris (formerly No. 1), absolutely.” On that the whole question in the case turned.
