VENDANGER v. a. ou tr. (van-dan-jé — rad. vendange. Prend un e après le g devant a et o : Nous vendangeons ; il vendangea.) Récolter le raisin de : Vendanger une vigne. Vendanger un clos.

— Fig. Ravager, dévaster : Les maraudeurs et le mauvais temps avaient tout vendangé. || Détruire, supprimer.

— Absol. Faire la vendange : Caton enseigne comment on sème, comment on moissonne, comment on vendange. (St-Marc Girard.) || Faire de grands profits, et particulièrement des profits illicites : Il est riche ; c’est qu’il a vendangé pendant son administration.
