* BROMIUS, sub. m. (Myth.) ce mot vient de βρόμος, bruit ; & Bacchus a été surnommé Bromius, ou parce qu’il naquit, dit-on, au bruit d’un coup de tonnerre, qui fit accoucher Semélé sa mere, ou parce que les Bacchantes, femmes particulierement attachées à son culte, étoient fort bruyantes.
