RI, RIC, RIX, (Lang. celtique.) ces trois vieux mots celtiques ont à-peu-près la même signification ; ri veut dire fort, selon Cambden ; ric signifie puissant, en saxon, & rix de même. De-là les mots atheleric, chilperic, cingentorix, vividorix, &c. chilperic veut dire adjutor fortis, selon le poëte Fortunatus. (D. J.)
