[Remi was detained in order to await developments; Bob and Mattia managed to let him know that he was to be taken to another prison, by train, accompanied by a policeman. Comme je restais interdit, Mattia fit ce que je ne pensais pas à faire.
– Nous vous remercions bien, madame, dit-il.
Et me poussant doucement, il me mit hors la cuisine.
– En route, me dit-il, en avant ! Ce n’est plus seulement Arthur et madame Milligan que nous avons à rejoindre, c’est encore Lise. Comme cela se trouve bien ! Nous aurions perdu du temps à Dreuzy ; tandis que maintenant nous pouvons continuer notre chemin ; c’est ce qui s’appelle une chance. Nous en avons eu assez de mauvaises, maintenant nous en avons de bonnes, le vent a changé. Qui sait tout ce qui va nous arriver d’heureux !
Et nous continuons notre course après le Cygne sans perdre de temps, ne nous arrêtant juste que ce qu’il faut pour dormir et pour gagner quelques sous.
