MÉTHODE D’OLBERS
Pour la détermination des éléments paraboliques d’une Comète
au moyen de trois observations complètes.
Soient
(fig. 8), les trois positions d’une comète aux époques
temps moyen de Paris ; soient aussi
les trois positions
correspondantes de la Terre, et
le centre du Soleil.
Posons
et
Les aires décrites par les rayons vecteurs étant proportionnelles
aux temps employés à les décrire, on aura
![{\displaystyle {\frac {t'}{t''}}={\frac {\operatorname {sect.} \mathrm {ASB} }{\operatorname {sect.} \mathrm {BSC} }}={\frac {\operatorname {sect} asb}{\operatorname {sect} bsc}}.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/ccae03d931fba828934d03da32d87d3210c8d085)
Si l’intervalle des observations n’est pas considérable, on pourra
remplacer les rapports des secteurs par ceux des triangles correspondants
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\mathrm {ASD} }{\mathrm {DSC} }},\quad {\frac {asd}{dsc}},}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/effafef1e840df2f878f5c0eeacea08487bbdc33)
ou, comme ces triangles ont même hauteur, il viendra

Projetons maintenant les points
sur un plan
perpendiculaire au rayon vecteur
de la Terre à sa position moyenne,
et supposons que ce plan occupe, parallèlement à lui-même, trois
positions, de manière à passer successivement par les points

Soit
(fig. 9), le lieu du Soleil,
les trois points
de
la figure (8),
leurs projections orthogonales sur le plan
perpendiculaire au rayon
et passant par le point
de l’espace ;
ce point étant à lui-même sa projection est représenté en
sur la figure (9) ; les points
et
sont les projections orthogonales
des points
et
sur notre plan de projection, dont
représente
l’intersection avec l’écliptique. Remarquons immédiatement que dans
le mouvement du plan de projection parallèlement à lui-même,
la position des points
sur ce plan ne
change pas.
Abaissons les perpendiculaires
sur le plan de
l’écliptique.
Désignons par
les trois latitudes géocentriques de la
comète ;
ses trois longitudes géocentriques ;
les trois longitudes géocentriques du Soleil ;
les trois distances accourcies de la comète à la Terre.
Le triangle rectiligne rectangle formé dans l’espace par les trois
points

![{\displaystyle \operatorname {tang} ^{2}(45^{\circ }\!-z)={\frac {\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}-r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}}{\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}+r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/00d2a6a1618687f93266fbe997c7a263f2663515)
Il vient donc en substituant cette valeur
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}q=&\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\sin ^{2}\!{\frac {1}{4}}(v''\!\!-\!v)\cos ^{2}{\frac {1}{4}}(v''\!\!-\!v)\\.&\left[{\frac {\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}+r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}-\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}-r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}}{\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}+r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}\sin ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{4}}(v''\!\!-\!v)+\left(r''^{\frac {1}{2}}-r^{\frac {1}{2}}\right)^{2}\cos ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{4}}(v''\!\!-\!v)}}\right]\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/7ab63c996435d23f22953ff2c706ae153b58cc45)
ou, en développant les carrés dans la parenthèse et réduisant,
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}q&={\frac {rr''\sin ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}{r''+r-2\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\left(\cos ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{4}}(v''\!-v)-\sin ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{4}}(v''\!-v)\right)}}\\&={\frac {rr''\sin ^{2}\!{\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}{r''+r-2\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}}\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/742763743ad2d69c19228bcf81caf9275ad3b1d7)
d’où l’on obtient
![{\displaystyle q^{\frac {1}{2}}={\frac {\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\sin {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}{\left(r''\!+r-2\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/bfac474e3c788ce24096768b9886ce294ac053c6)
Si nous portons cette valeur de
dans
nous aurons
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\mathrm {T} ''\!\!-\!\mathrm {T} &=\mathrm {C} \left(r''\!\!+\!r-2\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\frac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)\right)^{\!{\frac {1}{2}}}\left(r''\!\!+\!r+\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\frac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)\right)\\&=\mathrm {C} \left(r''\!\!+\!r\right)^{\frac {3}{2}}\!\left(\!1+{\frac {\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)}{(r+r'')}}\!\right)\!\left(\!1-{\frac {\left(2rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)}{(r+r'')}}\!\right)^{\!{\frac {1}{2}}}\\&=\mathrm {C} \left(r''\!\!+\!r\right)^{\frac {3}{2}}\!\left(\!1+{\frac {\left({\dfrac {r}{r''}}\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)}{1+{\dfrac {r}{r''}}}}\!\right)\!\left(\!1-{\frac {2\left({\dfrac {r}{r''}}\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!\!-\!v)}{1+{\dfrac {r}{r''}}}}\!\right)^{\!{\frac {1}{2}}}\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/620a12d26530c1f6797bbb43c174c918c3728e50)

et

on aura, toutes réductions faites,
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\mathrm {T} ''\!\!-\!\mathrm {T} =\mathrm {C} \left(r\!+\!r''\right)^{\frac {3}{2}}\left(\cos ^{3}\!{\frac {1}{2}}x-\sin ^{3}\!{\frac {1}{2}}x\right)\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/493aa37aadb06c288f18505f83466f528cf592a1)

Mais nous avons aussi, relativement à la corde ![{\displaystyle \mathrm {K} '',}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/90b94f90c77f918ed6cfd5c4ccaa34d018bb4669)

Des deux relations
![{\displaystyle \sin x=2\sin x\cos x\cos {\frac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/bb4332ddf535df0755081c492b4d94581c5f9be6)

nous déduisons aussi,
![{\displaystyle \sin x={\frac {2\left(rr''\right)^{\frac {1}{2}}\cos {\dfrac {1}{2}}(v''\!-v)}{r+r''}}\,;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/effa94c65377fe6ab36c542de62300a2c7f71976)
on a donc
![{\displaystyle \mathrm {K} ''^{2}=(r+r'')^{2}(1-\sin ^{2}x)=(r+r'')^{2}\cos ^{2}x,}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/7b70b45b53fda2834f024ab63b9781c67e296f0d)
et par suite, on obtient enfin la relation suivante, démontrée d’une
autre manière par Gauss, dans l’art. 108,
(6)
|
|
|
Cette formule, connue sous le nom de relation de Lambert, complète
les équations à l’aide desquelles nous allons chercher la distance
de la comète à la Terre, au moment de la première observation.
Récapitulons d’abord les six relations que nous venons de trouver.
Nous avons
(1) |
|
(2) |
|
(3) |
|
(4) |
|
(5) |
|
(6) |
|
On commence par déterminer les coefficients
et
puis les coefficients
numériques des équations (3), (4) et (6). On obtient ainsi les
trois équations en
(3)′
|
|
|
(4)′
|
|
|
(5)′
|
|
|
On fait alors différentes hypothèses sur
en commençant d’abord
par la valeur
pour chaque hypothèse on obtient, à l’aide des
équations (3)′, (4)′, (5)′, les valeurs correspondantes de
que
l’on substitue dans le second membre de l’équation (6).
Si l’on arrive à une identité, c’est-à-dire si le second membre de
cette équation est juste égal à l’intervalle de temps écoulé entre les
observations extrêmes, on a trouvé la vraie valeur de
dans le cas
contraire on fait varier cette valeur de
de deux dixièmes en deux
dixièmes, jusqu’à ce que l’on trouve deux seconds membres comprenant
entre eux la valeur
par une simple proportion on peut
ensuite déterminer une valeur de
satisfaisant assez approximativement
l’équation (6). On essaye deux valeurs de
prises en dessus
et en dessous de cette valeur déterminée, et l’on resserre les hypothèses ;
une nouvelle proportion établie entre les variations de
et
les variations de l’intervalle calculé, permet enfin de trouver une
valeur de
suffisamment exacte, et à l’aide de laquelle on a
et
avec assez de précision.
Une fois les valeurs de
et
déterminées ainsi que nous venons
de le dire, on procède à la recherche des éléments paraboliques de la comète.
Cette détermination se fait de la manière suivante :
I. Détermination des latitudes et longitudes héliocentriques correspondantes des observations extrêmes.
En représentant par
la latitude héliocentrique de la comète à
l’instant de la première observation, on aura, d’après la fig. (10),
(7)
|
|
|
et, par analogie,
(8)
|
|
|
Le triangle
donne ensuite, en appelant
l’angle au Soleil
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\sin \varepsilon }{\rho }}={\frac {\sin(\Theta -\alpha )}{\mathrm {A'S} }}={\frac {\sin(\Theta -\alpha )}{r\cos \lambda }},}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/2b53679542e8a5e797cbc04d56b7364603c53825)
d’où
(9)
|
|
|
on obtient de même
(10)
|
|
|
et ensuite,
longitude héliocentrique, |
|
id. |
|
II. Détermination de la longitude du nœud et de l’inclinaison de l’orbite.
En appelant
l’inclinaison de l’orbite et
la longitude du nœud,
on sait qu’on a les relations
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\operatorname {tang} \lambda \;&=\operatorname {tang} \mathrm {I} \sin(\mathrm {L} \;-{\text{☊ }}),\\\operatorname {tang} \lambda ''&=\operatorname {tang} \mathrm {I} \sin(\mathrm {L} ''-{\text{☊ }})\,;\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/4a87c930f0e156b95b5d5b85b5836d875f541d52)
d’où l’on déduit, en posant ![{\displaystyle \mathrm {L} ''-\mathrm {L} =d\mathrm {L} ,}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/8494f7e2c6f6bdbc4ac6852a995dd4bdf3fca27a)
(11)
|
|
|
et ensuite,
(12)
|
|
|
III. Détermination des arguments de la latitude,
et
ainsi que des anomalies vraies
et
On sait que l’on a
(13)
|
|
|
on en déduit
![{\displaystyle u''-u=v''-v.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/fe16be995411a5362a2fa6c53e47ee1e4acdfc8d)
Si l’on applique les relations de Nicolic,
(14)
|
|
|
on obtiendra facilement
et ![{\displaystyle v''.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/efb946a87a74967bfd3f0c1f9e8402c1ede68e50)
IV. Détermination de la longitude du périhélie dans l’orbite, de la
distance périhélie et de l’époque du passage de la comète à son périhélie.
On a évidemment
![{\displaystyle u\;+{\text{☊ }}=\mathrm {L} _{0}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/d54b355730e319badfb8befe955d07aee7d0f22f) |
longitude de la comète dans l’orbite,
|
![{\displaystyle u''\!+{\text{☊ }}=\mathrm {L} _{0}''\;\;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/813b0a5ef45ea83a2952f183a833ba14d7b10eb7) |
id.
|
et par suite,
Longitude du périhélie dans l’orbite
![{\displaystyle \pi =\mathrm {L} _{0}-v=\mathrm {L} ''_{0}-v''.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/c4fde8c86531eedff0529f64c0d37665d83ad647)
La distance périhélie s’obtiendra par la relation
(15)
|
|
|
Enfin, l’époque du passage de la comète à son périhélie se déterminera
en cherchant d’abord la valeur de
qui correspond à la
relation
(16)
|
|
|
on aura ensuite
Époque du passage ![{\displaystyle \theta =\mathrm {T} -t.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/0120df4d49f0cceff453e756639a155be6caf9aa)
On pourra, pour cette détermination, se servir de la table de Barker
ou d’une autre.
Formules de corrections des éléments obtenus
par la méthode d’Olbers.
La valeur de
a été obtenue en supposant que l’on pouvait
écrire
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\mathrm {AD} }{\mathrm {DC} }}={\frac {ad}{dc}}={\frac {t'}{t''}}\,;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/82e342089b07643f342329e4ce7f14a6befbd54f)
cette hypothèse peut ne pas être exacte, et il s’agit de corriger
cette valeur de
en se servant des éléments approchés que l’on a
ainsi obtenus.
Au moyen de ces éléments déterminons les anomalies
qui
correspondent aux trois époques considérées. Nous avons ensuite,
fig. (8),
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\mathrm {AD} }{\mathrm {AS} }}={\frac {\sin \mathrm {ASB} }{\sin \mathrm {ADS} }}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/edd705735c7d1760763b222063270a52417a3b34) |
ou
|
|
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\mathrm {DC} }{\mathrm {CS} }}={\frac {\sin \mathrm {BSC} }{\sin \mathrm {CDS} }}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/27d0f0e90cebc9f2e488e0060a93ea0f3f26891b) |
ou
|
|
on en déduit
![{\displaystyle {\frac {\mathrm {DC} }{\mathrm {AD} }}={\frac {r''\sin(v''\!-v')}{r\sin(v'\!-v)}}.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/88db6eebad5d45d3ad6d7fd4a92b585080398e74)
Nous déduisons aussi par analogie,
![{\displaystyle {\frac {dc}{ad}}={\frac {\mathrm {R} ''\sin(\Theta ''\!-\Theta ')}{\mathrm {R} \sin(\Theta '\!-\Theta )}}.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/8c2ddc2a6719ca5923dc911f31523c9227153462)
Si nous projetons, ainsi que nous l’avons déjà fait, les points
sur un plan perpendiculaire au rayon
nous aurons,
fig. (9), en nommant
la distance
![{\displaystyle \delta ''=\mathrm {C} _{1}o+oc_{1}\,;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/a18022071e49e89ebb108f6db9f125cff433f9ee)
mais du triangle
nous avons
![{\displaystyle \mathrm {C} _{1}o={\frac {\mathrm {D} _{1}\mathrm {C} _{1}\sin \mathrm {D} _{1}}{\sin o}},}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/498c4016329bb90854ccf8cf0e7fb6f9969b8a7e)
et du triangle ![{\displaystyle \mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}\mathrm {M} ,}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/ce600e28669b2dfb164c6ec93d26f08a83ca6005)
![{\displaystyle \sin \mathrm {D} _{1}={\frac {\sin \mathrm {M.A} _{1}\mathrm {M} }{\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}},}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/ac0a21e8c3945bae540214c304383361d83253cf)
il vient donc,
![{\displaystyle \mathrm {C} _{1}o={\frac {\mathrm {D} _{1}\mathrm {C} _{1}}{\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}}.{\frac {\sin \mathrm {M} }{\sin o}}.\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {M} .}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/228d665fbdf6d1655037b9d024bf42c82a15a27d)
Nous déduisons aussi des triangles
et
![{\displaystyle c_{1}o={\frac {d_{1}c_{1}}{d_{1}a_{1}}}.{\frac {\sin \mathrm {M} }{\sin o}}.a_{1}\mathrm {M} ,}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/99ad8d44f2067d5ffe3855bbbf8ebba08da072e9)
on obtient donc
![{\displaystyle \delta ''={\frac {\sin \mathrm {M} }{\sin o}}\left({\frac {\mathrm {C} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}{\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}}\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {M} +{\frac {c_{1}d_{1}}{a_{1}d_{1}}}a_{1}\mathrm {M} \right).}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/ba1227a5284c0e283b5c23d6bc103ec1e2764ef7)
Mais l’angle
![{\displaystyle \mathrm {M} =b'-b}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/b04091b76399a4a8a2e2dae1a6c2b0de18728e0f)
et l’angle
![{\displaystyle o=b''\!-b,}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/e129816c568e1676b7a48b651c68856ba653f96c)
de plus
![{\displaystyle \;\,\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {M} =\delta -a_{1}\mathrm {M} \,;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/f20953b8eaa10520d81e05942e83bbad1750e579)
nous avons donc, en représentant
![{\displaystyle a_{1}\mathrm {M} }](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/063b30e4a20f65422585c74b6aef11f6574a9c82)
par
![{\displaystyle k}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/c3c9a2c7b599b37105512c5d570edc034056dd40)
![{\displaystyle \delta ''={\frac {\sin(b'\!-b)}{\sin(b''\!-b')}}\left({\frac {\mathrm {C} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}{\mathrm {A} _{1}\mathrm {D} _{1}}}(\delta -k)+{\frac {c_{1}d_{1}}{a_{1}d_{1}}}k\right).}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/8288bb544f1e89baa6fface13d82bf7d92f195b9)
Mais nous pouvons évidemment remplacer les rapports
et
par
et
![{\displaystyle {\frac {cd}{ad}}\,;}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/88194c52433206b8c5ff8f9447ea46af0580db03)
on a donc, d’après cela,
![{\displaystyle \delta ''={\frac {\sin(b'\!-b)}{\sin(b''\!-b')}}\left({\frac {\mathrm {CD} }{\mathrm {AD} }}(\delta -k)+{\frac {cd}{ad}}k\right)}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/e76ff954020e4e00c8f5492055de7046511dd4dd)
ou
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\delta ''={\frac {\sin(b'\!-b)}{\sin(b''\!-b')}}\left({\frac {r''\sin(v''\!-v')}{r\sin(v'\!-v)}}\right)\delta +k&\left({\frac {\mathrm {R} ''\sin(\Theta ''\!-\Theta ')}{\mathrm {R} \sin(\Theta '\!-\Theta )}}\right.\\&\quad -\left.{\frac {r''\sin(v''\!-v')}{r\sin(v'\!-v)}}\right)\,;\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/5ea97ec4e0e768863bd18cc620bddffcadd81f7a)
Mais nous avons les relations
![{\displaystyle {\begin{aligned}\delta \;\,\cos b\;\,&=\rho \;\,\sin(\Theta '\!-\alpha ),\\\delta ''\cos b''&=\rho ''\sin(\Theta '\!-\alpha ''),\end{aligned}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/8e3b7aa47c906217637b2a056558907c962fba76)
il vient donc, en introduisant ces relations dans l’équation précédente,
(1)
|
|
|
en posant
![{\displaystyle \mathrm {U} ={\frac {\mathrm {R} ''\sin(\Theta ''\!-\Theta ')}{\mathrm {R} \sin(\Theta '\!-\Theta )}}-{\frac {r''\sin(v''\!-v')}{r\sin(v'\!-v)}}.}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/27fae9f6bfc3619019f1a17ede57cab9b13a5541)
Remarquons maintenant, qu’on a aussi
![{\displaystyle k=a_{1}\mathrm {M} ={\frac {a_{1}d_{1}\sin b'}{\sin(b'\!-b)}}={\frac {\mathrm {R} \sin(\Theta '\!-\Theta )\sin b'}{\sin(b'\!-b)}}}](https://wikimedia.org/api/rest_v1/media/math/render/svg/d48b06410f164c2e334b1d91e24628b8de89d43a)
il vient alors, en introduisant cette valeur dans l’équation (1),

Pour calculer ce rapport
on se servira des valeurs
et
trouvées d’après les éléments fournis par la méthode donnée précédemment.
Une fois la valeur de
obtenue, on multipliera, dans les équations
fondamentales qui donnent
et
les coefficients qui contiennent
par
et ceux qui contiennent
par
on aura ainsi les
équations en
et
corrigées, et l’on pourra procéder de nouveau à la
détermination des éléments de l’orbite.
Pour donner une application de la méthode d’Olbers, nous allons
calculer l’orbite approchée de la comète de Juin 1860 ; nous emploierons,
dans ce but, trois observations obtenues par M. Yvon Villarceau à l’Observatoire impérial.
Ces observations nous ont donné les coordonnées écliptiques suivantes,
qui sont corrigées de la nutation seulement :

Ces éléments sont suffisamment approchés, d’après leur comparaison avec ceux qui ont été publiés, pour qu’il soit inutile d’employer
les formules de corrections que nous avons données.
Les latitudes et longitudes géocentriques dont nous nous sommes
servi n’ont pas été corrigées de l’aberration, ni de la parallaxe ; on
pourrait actuellement faire ces corrections et recommencer le calcul ;
mais pour une orbite parabolique on peut se contenter de l’approximation que nous avons obtenue. En calculant, à l’aide de ces éléments, le lieu moyen de la comète, on trouve un accord très-suffisant
avec la position observée.
